When HGTV’s Kate Campbell set out to renovate a 150-year-old farmhouse, she sought building materials designed to stand the test of time. It’s no surprise then that this “Trexpert,” who relies on Trex decking and railing for her clients’ outdoor projects, wanted the same level of performance and aesthetics for her own home.
The finished project is truly a Trex masterpiece, as this skilled contractor blended the warm colors of Trex Transcend® decking in Spiced Rum and Vintage Lantern to create a cheery outdoor oasis that’s a bright spot on any given day.
In addition to Transcend decking, Kate used Transcend railing in Classic White to match the traditional farmhouse style of the home. She also incorporated Trex® Outdoor Kitchens™ components and Trex® DeckLighting™ to create a multi-purpose space that can be used throughout the day – and well into the evening. As a finishing touch, the deck’s custom Trex® Pergola™ boasts a bright yellow overhead shade, creating the perfect atmosphere for entertaining.
Kate and her husband, Dave Coleman, have documented the entire renovation project in a web series called “The Major House.” Click below to see step-by-step how Kate transformed her backyard with Trex!
